What is PokerTracker?

PokerTracker is a web app for live poker tournament players. You open it on your phone while you’re at the table and log every hand that matters. Your cards, your opponent’s cards, the board, your position, the pot, the result.

Each time you log a hand, your chip count updates and a real-time stack chart plots your progress. No more finishing a session and wondering where your chips went.

The problem with live tournaments

If you play live poker, you know. There’s no hand history file. No automatic tracking. You sit down, play for six hours, bust or bag chips, and walk away with a vague memory of how it went. Zero data.

Some players keep notes on their phone. Some scribble on napkins. Most do nothing and forget everything by the next morning. That means you can’t review your play, can’t spot patterns, and can’t improve with any precision.

PokerTracker fixes this. Structured data in, actionable insights out.

What you can track

Every hand entry in PokerTracker captures:

  • Your hand (e.g. As Kh)
  • Opponent’s hand, if you saw it at showdown
  • The board, all five community cards
  • Position: UTG, MP, CO, BTN, SB, BB
  • Pot size
  • Result: won, lost, split, or folded
  • Notes: anything you want to remember about the hand

You also set up each session with the tournament name, buy-in, starting stack, and blind level. Everything stays organized per session so you can go back and review any tournament.

The stack chart

This is the feature that makes PokerTracker click. As you log hands, your stack chart updates in real time. Chip count on the Y axis, hand number on the X axis, with a reference line at your starting stack.

At a glance you see your trajectory. Were you grinding up slowly? Did you take a bad beat on hand 30 and never recover? Did you double up twice in the first hour and coast? The chart tells the story your memory can’t.

Session management

Each tournament gets its own session. You can track multiple sessions, and each one stores:

  • Session name (e.g. “Friday $200 NLH”)
  • Tournament name
  • Buy-in amount
  • Starting stack
  • Current stack (auto-updated)
  • Status (active or completed)

Your dashboard shows all sessions with a quick snapshot: current stack, profit/loss from starting stack, date, and status. Tap any session to see its full hand history and chart.

Coming soon: AI hand analysis

The Pro plan ($9/month) will include AI-powered post-session analysis. After you finish a tournament, our AI reviews your hand history and looks for patterns you might miss:

  • Are you losing more chips from early position than you should?
  • How does your button play compare to your blind defense?
  • Which hands are you overplaying?
  • Where are your biggest leaks?

Think of it as a poker coach that reads your session data and gives you concrete feedback. Not generic strategy advice. Specific observations based on your actual hands.

Try it free

PokerTracker is free to use (3 sessions per month on the free plan). No account required to get started. Just open PokerTracker, create a session, and start logging hands at your next tournament.

If you play live poker and want to track your performance with real data instead of guesswork, give it a try. Your future self will thank you when reviewing actual hand histories instead of blurry memories.
